Full-scope interior design – residential new build
BRIEF:
Create a warm home robust enough to handle the real needs of a busy family of five but beautiful enough to satisfy the high-end aesthetic of the homeowners.
DESIGN:
It was vital to channel the user’s experience of this expansive home via carefully-considered connective zones that encourage the family to come together in an easy, relaxed manner or enjoy a sense of peaceful solitude without feeling alone. The interiors include designer pieces however the aesthetic remains grounded in the homeowners’ emotional connection to their environment – Table Mountain to the South and the Atlantic Ocean to the North – through the use of natural textures and materiality and muted, earthy hues that bring the outdoors in, creating a calm urban retreat from the hum of the city below.
