Renovate a free-standing Victorian to suit the needs of a growing family.

A personal project, Lynne oversaw the renovation of her own home which she and her husband Gavin bought before they got married. Three kids and a dog later, they felt like they were bursting at the seams of their cute but too-cosy freestanding Victorian. “We didn’t want to move as we loved the city bowl location so we decided to rather expand the home and try to create spaces where all of us would have room to work, play, sleep or retreat without feeling like we were on top of one other.” Space, light, colour and greenery all add to the feeling of transparency from front to back with mountain glimpses across the rooftops of their neighbours the silver lining of this inner-city sanctuary.
