Design an inviting but hard-working space that celebrates the client’s main passions in life: food, friends and family.
DESIGN:
Our client bought this ‘fixer-upper’ in Newlands because she wanted a bigger space than her city apartment allowed to entertain friends and family. Her new eat-in kitchen encourages guests to socialise with her while she cooks with everything she needs to create an amazing meal close at hand: metres of counter space; hard-wearing and easy-to-clean work surfaces and acres of cleverly-compact storage. Glass and steel scullery doors allow light to pour through the space while a fireside-settee means guests can lounge about without missing any of the foodie action. The interiors reflect the client’s appreciation of art, interiors and artisanal design while inherited treasures and a fine collection of antiques add layers of sentiment to this warm-hearted home.

Respecting the heritage of this period home was important yet we wanted it to still feel modern and exciting through the use of bold colours, graphic pattern and print and statement pieces.
